4/17/08 - EMERGING BUSINESS RESOURCE GUIDE LIVE ONLINE
Today the Host Committee launched its online Emerging Business Resource Guide. A key component of the NFL Emerging Business program, this online tool will give NFL Contractors and purchasing entities easy access to a comprehensive list of area minority- and women-owned businesses. The guide represents approximately 50 different business categories, including those more frequently used by NFL purchasing entities.
To be listed in the guide, local businesses must complete the online emerging business application, available by clicking here, and provide the Host Committee with a copy of their certification as a minority- or woman-owned business. For a complete list of approved certifying agencies, please click here. At launch time, the guide included 132 businesses, although there are several hundred companies who are only awaiting final certification approval.
The NFL Emerging Business Program is designed to provide local minority- and woman-owned businesses direct access to NFL Contractors involved in Super Bowl preparations. While participation in the program does not guarantee Super Bowl XLIII-related contracts, it is the intention of the Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee that interested minority- and woman-owned businesses receive information on the procurement process and an introduction to potential purchasing entities.
