4/10/08 - MEDIA GENERAL SIGNS ON AS FIRST OFFICIAL SPONSOR
The Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee announced today that Media General's Florida Communications Group properties have signed on as the first official Host Committee sponsor. This includes The Tampa Tribune, WFLA-TV (NBC) and TBO.com. As the local NBC affiliate, WFLA-TV will broadcast the game locally.
"We are thrilled to step into this important role in Super Bowl XLIII," said John Schueler, president of the Florida Communications Group for Media General. "This international event will offer untold opportunities for Tampa businesses and community efforts, and we are proud to be a part of these important initiatives."
TBO.com has already collaborated with the Host Committee to develop and host its official Web site, www.TampaBaySuperBowl.com. The site welcomes visitors to Tampa Bay and provides local citizens with details on volunteering, the Emerging Business program, sponsorship opportunities, events and more.
